Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) Certification Course
The Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) course provides specialized training in the principles, procedures, and techniques used to restore residential and commercial structures and contents following fire and smoke damage.
This course covers the behavior and effects of fire, smoke, soot, and other combustion residues, along with proper inspection, evaluation, cleaning, deodorization, and restoration methods. Training includes identifying different types of smoke and residue, selecting appropriate cleaning agents and techniques, addressing odor contamination, protecting unaffected areas, and determining when materials can be successfully restored versus when replacement is necessary.
The course also addresses job-site safety, equipment and chemical use, documentation, and industry-standard procedures for managing fire and smoke restoration projects. Successful completion prepares participants to take the IICRC Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) certification examination.
